Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio is currently seeking an Executive Assistant to provide senior level administrative support to the President/CEO, members of the Leadership Team and the Board of Directors. This position is out of our Canton corporate office.  The Executive Assistant will serve as the primary contact for internal and external inquiries to the President/CEO.  Responsibilities include project management, conducting research, preparing reports, recording minutes from board and committee meetings, arranging conference calls and scheduling of meetings.  Integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ensure files necessary to the Executive Team's business activities are maintained and materials area easily retrievable; as needed, prepare background material to assist in preparation for meetings.
  2. Organize and coordinate focus groups, community leaders, surveys, etc. as needed, for strategic planning process and implementation.
  3. Compose, organize and prioritize highly confidential correspondences, memos, emails, phone calls, etc.
  4. Monitor, maintain and follow-up on items from town halls, employee engagement surveys, etc.
  5. Maintain, track and follow-up on risk management matrix.
  6. Coordinate and manage the President/CEO's calendar, arrange meetings, appointments, professional social events, travel arrangements, etc.
  7. Assess all incoming material to the President/CEO, deciding on the priority of requiring the President/CEO's attention and taking action on all others as needed.
  8. Attend Board, Executive and Finance committee meetings; record and distribute minutes. Attend weekly Leadership Team meetings, record minutes, follow-up on action items, as appropriate. Attend and record minutes from other meetings, as assigned.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Strong organizational skills and communication skills. Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with many departments/audiences and maintain professional relationship with all.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task. 
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel and Power Point, with ability to learn other design and web content management tools.
  • Display professional presence.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Associates degree in secretarial, business or related field.  2-4 years experience in lieu of degree.

Work Conditions: Fast paced office. Must be able to perform physical requirements of the position including but not limited to: inside, sedentary work; frequent forward, horizontal reach at desk; occasional standing, stair climbing, stooping/bending; lift/carry up to 20 pounds and walk approximately 60 feet; infrequent crouching/squatting.

Equipment: General office, computer, and phone system.
