Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio is currently seeking a Manager of Fund Development and Community Relations to join our Marketing team in Canton, OH.

As the Manager of Fund Development and Community Relations you will promote Goodwill Industries of GCECO and its missionservices to gain support, creating a positive public image. You will plan, schedule and carry out fund development plans. Coordinate and manage the volunteer program and other other community events, and oversee the reception team in the corporate office.

Essential Functions:

  • Identifies and cultivates financial contributor sources and secures funding support from individuals, corporations and foundations.
  • Generates new funding sources for mission services, capital needs and endowments.
  • Writing for all publications.
  • Writing and distribution of News Releases and Public Service Announcements.
  • Coordinates community relations and events throughout the territory.
  • Assistance with special events or promotions.
  • Oversee/manage Receptionists in the corporate office/community campus.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specific Experience/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Grant writing experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking skills.
  • Marketing planning strategy skills (creative thinking, persuasiveness).
  • Must be a self-starter and have leadership ability.
  • Must be articulate, friendly, and have strong interpersonal skills.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a fund development or marketing field.

Key Relationships:

Positions Supervised: Reception staff at corporate office

Internal: Communicate effectively and develop teamwork within the agency.

External: Represent the agency in a positive way to the community.

Basic Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, non-profit management, fundraising or a related field is preferrred; or at least five years of experience in a related field
  • Must have valid driver's license and automotive insurance. Must regularly provide the agency with proof of valid automotive insurance.
  • Must be able to perform physical requirements of the position including but not limited to: inside, sedentary work; frequent forward, horizontal reach at desk,; occasional standing, stair climbing, stooping/bending; lift/carry up to 20 pounds and walk approximately 60 feet; infrequesnt crouching/squatting.
  • General offix and phone system.

Financial impact Direct/Indirect:  Must meet budgeted expectations.
