Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio is currently seeking an HR Assistant to join our team in Cleveland, OH!

As the HR Assistant you will provide administrative support to the Human Resources department and assist with managing all human resource areas including performance management, employee development, employee relations, leave of absences and talent acquisition.

Essential Functions:

  • Compiles and maintains employee personnel records. Records employee information such as personal data, date of hire, compensation, benefits and tax data, performance reviews and evaluations, disciplinary actions and terminations. Keeps records updated.  Files documents.
  • Coordinates background checks and drug screens.
  • Prepares reports using information stored in computer systems.
  • Completes required paperwork, such as court ordered Qualified Medical Support orders, employment and income verifications.
  • Perform customer service functions by answering requests, questions and providing guidance in all human resource areas.
  • Provide administrative support for wellness and benefits initiatives.
  • Assist with and coordinate various aspects of performance management, and employee benefits administration.
  • Conduct new hire orientations. Ensure all new hire paperwork is accurate and entered into the appropriate HR system.
  • Perform other human resource and payroll duties as assigned

Specific Experience/Skills/Abilities:

  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • 1-3 years of human resource experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resource, Business Administration or related field preferred.  Will consider a combination of years and experience. 
  • Must have valid driver's license and automotive insurance.  Must regularly provide the agency with proof of valid automotive insurance.
